GetYourGuide Convenes Asia’s Travel Leaders at Unlocked Summit Bangkok

The Oct. 19 event features DMOs, operators, and platform partners, plus new research on why distinctive experiences win more bookings

BANGKOK and BERLIN | Oct. 16, 2026 – GetYourGuide, a leading global online marketplace to discover and book experiences worth traveling for, today confirmed details of Unlocked Summit Bangkok, its invite-only flagship gathering for travel operators, attractions, and destination marketing organizations (DMOs), marking the Unlocked series' second event in Asia.

Taking place on October 19 at Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit, the summit brings together operators, DMOs, and platform partners from across the region for a full day of product news, data-led insights, and leadership conversations.

Confirmed organizations speaking include representatives from, WebInTravel, Gyeonggi Tourism Organization, Kyoto City Tourism Association (DMO Kyoto), Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center, Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Thailand. The day will also feature leaders from KKday, Grab, TBO, TikTok GO and GetYourGuide leadership.

Deepening roots in Asia

The event comes on the heels of increased commitment to the region. GetYourGuide's growth in the region is powered by the destinations themselves.

The company recently signed a two-year agreement with the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) — its first national-level destination partnership outside of its home country — to grow Singapore's visibility among global travelers. This partnership builds on GetYourGuide's existing work with organizations such as Asoview, European Travel Commission, the German National Tourist Board, CityDNA, and others.

New data: standing out drives bookings

Alongside the summit, GetYourGuide is releasing its Fall 2026 Travel Experience Trend Tracker (TETT), "Standing Out," a study of 1,800 travelers in the US and UK testing how distinctiveness — not just choice volume — shapes booking decisions.

  • Travelers shown a set of distinctive experiences were 12% more likely to book than those shown similar-looking options (76.6% vs. 68.3%), a pattern that held consistently whether they were shown 8, 20, or 200 options.
  • Travelers shown similar sets also took 55% longer to decide and were more likely to defer with "book later."
  • Separately, GetYourGuide found that experiences it worked with to sharpen their listings for distinctiveness saw a 40% higher booking rate within 30 days.

"AI is changing how people discover what to do, but discovery only matters if it leads somewhere trustworthy," said Tao Tao, COO and co-founder of GetYourGuide. "That's the role we're building toward — turning that discovery into a booked, fulfilled experience, at scale."
