BERLIN, July 2026 – As a third heatwave since May keeps Western Europe sweating, GetYourGuide has three tips for staying cool this summer. New data drawn from traveler reviews and current booking patterns, shows exactly how travelers are responding, with mentions of “shade” sky-rocketing by 146% in consumer reviews between May and June.

- Mountain-maxxing
Postpone the beach day for an adventure into the mountains. "Mountain vacation" searches in the last three months are up 180% year on year, according to Google Trends data. In Cyprus' Troodos Mountains, geologist and GetYourGuide expert Konstantia Achilleos is watching it happen. Mentions of air conditioning in GetYourGuide reviews are up 72% since May as travelers seek relief indoors. And a museum offers the perfect relief. Visitors should be sure to check opening hours, however, as some museums and landmarks are closing early due to the heat. In Paris, the Eiffel Tower, Louvre and Musée d'Orsay all trimmed their hours rather than closing outright.
